The third orientation webinar for potential participants in the Open international competition to develop a master plan for the research and technology districts of the Sirius federal territory took place on April 29. About 100 people took part in the event, including representatives from ten foreign countries, among them China, Iran, Thailand, Turkey, the United States and Canada.
Participants of the webinar were introduced to the competition area and specifics of the competition.
Dilyara Medvedskaya, General Director of Sirius Medical Center autonomous non-profit organization, spoke in detail about the Sirius University Clinic medical center that must be included in the master plan. “All the most advanced areas of medicine must be represented to some extent in this medical center. This includes artificial intelligence, medical robotics, robotic surgery and robotic rehabilitation, genomic medicine, distance healthcare and mobile applications that monitor the condition of patients, virtual and augmented reality technologies, implantable devices for trauma patients, modern drug delivery systems, bioprinting and 3D printing, gene therapy and the creation of new vaccines”.
One of the key projects of the master plan should be the creation of the clinic medical center, specializing in oncological care, including personalized and preventive treatment. It is planned to be located on the competition site with an area of 19.4 hectares, which will also include the construction of specialized and residential real estate. According to Dilyara Medvedskaya, the center will include children’s and adult outpatient clinics, as well as a 450-bed hospital, diagnostic laboratories, a helipad and an ambulance station. The center will employ a staff of 2,300.
On the other competition plot (23.1 hectares), construction of the second phase of the scientific and technological campus of Sirius University is planned, as well as creation of a high-tech district with laboratories, engineering infrastructure, data centers, and test sites for experimental production.
According to Kristina Raguzova, deputy head of the Talent and Success Foundation, “We expect to be able to organize 2,600 places for students, postgraduates and young scientists with equal conditions for all. The infrastructure should be adapted to long-term stay, with all the comfort of a hotel complex. The campus must have spaces in which students can work individually to realize their ideas. It is also imperative that there be a connection between the second and first phases of the campus. We envision our campus to being located in the middle of a park”.
The Sirius university campus will be designed for more than 8,000 people, said Kristina Raguzova.
The webinar also reviewed the prospective infrastructure of the Sirius Innovative Scientific and Technological Center at the competition sites, including a technology development and research park with 1,000 places, offices for 4,500 staff and places to live for more than 7,000 center residents.
The participants of the webinar were told about the state of transportation and engineering infrastructure of Sirius, as well as the environmental principles of its development that should be reflected in the works of the competition participants, including the unique National Water Natural-Climate Park that is being created on the territory.
Co-founder of Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER” Sergei Georgievskii and the project’s leading analyst Irina Levina took part in the webinar on behalf of the competition operator. The participants were able to ask all of their questions.
Registration for the event is via the official website of the competition: en.siriusmasterplan.com. Competition applications can also be submitted there until May 30. Based on their consideration, in late June, a jury will select finalists who will visit the competition area to develop the best proposals. The winner will receive a reward of 9 million rubles and will be able to participate in the implementation of their ideas in a unique territory specially created at the Olympic base for the development of talented young people from all over the world, who will search for answers to the key challenges of our time, and development and implementation of the most advanced technologies.
