Sirius and the United Arab Emirates will develop cooperation in the sphere of education, scientific research, technology, sport, arts and culture.
A memorandum to this effect was today signed by Elena Shmeleva, head of the Talent and Success Educational Foundation and chair of the Council of the Federal Territory of Sirius, and Minister of Education of the UAE, Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri.
“Breakthrough development in our countries and implementation of joint strategic plans directly depends on high quality education and the ability to reveal young people’s talents, involving them in solving top priority tasks for Russia and the UAE. Today’s signing of the memorandum is a crucial step that opens up new opportunities for joint comprehensive work. We are ready to share the best methods of developmental education that we have created over the past decade, for both schoolchildren and students, as well as for teachers. We will offer our experience for solving common tasks, including issues of sustainable development. We plan to strengthen cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, establish cultural exchange, and protect our common and traditional spiritual and moral values. I am convinced that strategic partnership that is in the interests of our countries will bring real benefit to millions of their inhabitants,” said Elena Shmeleva.
After signing the memorandum, Elena Shmeleva and Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri held a working meeting where they discussed in the details of the signed memorandum, as well as the upcoming Sirius Talent Summit to be held in the UAE. It will take place in Abu Dhabi from February 23 to 25.
There will be ten themed platforms that will demonstrate to partners from the UAE the potential and experience of Sirius in the areas of the agreement. Guests to the event will be able to attend lectures, workshops and seminars with the participation of scientists, teachers and partners of Sirius, see a concert of the Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, which will feature Sirius alumni and two world-class soloists, pianist-virtuoso Denis Matsuev and violinist Pavel Milyukov, and visit an exhibition featuring paintings and ceramic works created by graduates of Sirius fine arts programs.
Work on the preparing a memorandum of understanding between Sirius and the United Arab Emirates began after a delegation from the UAE, headed by Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chair of the Education and Human Resources Council, visited the federal territory last November. At that time, the high-ranking guests were given a tour of the federal territory and told about the history of Sirius and its achievements, as well as the goals and objectives it is addressing nationwide.
