In just three days, acceptance of applications from potential participants in the Open International Competition for the development of a master plan for the science and technology districts of the federal territory of Sirius will end. The official competition website siriusmasterplan.com shows the deadline of May 30, after which the jury will start determining the finalists.
The competition was announced in February to engage professionals from around the world in creating the best scenarios for the spatial organization and functional use of the two Sirius sites. A key project for the first is the creation of a medical cluster specializing in the fight against cancer and ensuring healthy longevity. The second district will be a place for development of the Sirius University campus, as well as a high-tech district where the latest developments in such areas as resource-saving energy, intelligent transport and telecommunications systems, secure storage and processing of information will emerge and be implemented.
The competition will have two stages. The first one requires participants to send a portfolio of relevant projects, an essay with key ideas for the development of the federal territory and visual materials (sketches, schemes, renderings) illustrating the concepts presented. In the second stage, finalists will work directly on the development of the master plan, for which a visit to the competition site will be organized, as well as consultations with experts from Sirius.
The federal territory was created at the Russian Olympic base for the development of talented young people from all over the world, who will search for answers to the key challenges of our time, and development and implementation of the most advanced technologies. The winner of the competition will be able to participate directly in the implementation of their proposals. The results of the competition will be announced in November.
